The Acai berry, also known as the Brazilian Acai berry is now receiving great attention worldwide. Even without formal laboratory testing and research, people all over the world are getting curious more and more in every second of every day. This small berry has claimed acknowledgments on its antioxidant effects twice of a blueberry and ten times more than the usual red grapes, making it a superfood. The Acai berry superfood also contains but is not limited to amino acids, anthocyanins, dietary fiber, essential minerals (calcium, iron, phosphorus, potassium, and phytonutrients), omega fats (3, 6, and 9), and proteins.

The Acai berry’s claimed benefits include the following: promotes weight loss, slows down the aging process, prevents degenerative diseases, improves eye sight and circulation, promotes healthier and youthful skin, increases skin resistance, and increases energy. Studies also show that regular intake of the Acai berry superfood is able to decrease cancer cell development in the body. During the study, samples consisting of six chemicals from the Acai fruit and pulp were applied to Leukemia cells, after 24 hours approximately 35 to 86 percent of cells died.

Though this fruit has been subject to a number of tests regarding its effectiveness especially its antioxidant properties and cancer cell-inhibiting results, people should take note that this is not a solution to all existing diseases. The healing effects of this fruit still need to undergo more research as well as tests. Furthermore, there are also other fruits in the market which can also provide positive effects to a person’s body most especially if taken together with other vitamins-and-minerals providing food.
